Minute of Hope - February 2021

Minute of Hope - February 2021

Dear Family,

I hope this post finds you well, healthy, and prospering in the new year.  I pray the fast and our journey through Psalms and Proverbs has strengthened your spirit. In 2021, I plan to send an update on the first day of the month (sorry for being late on this one) to communicate important information to our church family.
Let us start by looking in the rearview mirror.  Our annual prayer and fasting campaigns were a tremendous success.  We had great participation and I know we will see the benefits of this time of consecration to our Lord.  The Bible says, “So faith [comes] from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17 NASB).  Our journey through Psalms and Proverbs should have strengthened our faith and prepared us for the year ahead.  In missions, we were able to raise $9,000 in our annual Buy A Tree Change A Life campaign.  Half of this money was sent to the Southeast Kentucky Human Trafficking Taskforce to assist their effort to raise awareness in the Cumberland Region about human trafficking.  Moreover, we heard an inspirational talk given by Jennifer Reeder on the work that is being done by AA Women’s Services. Finally, and sadly, we did the funeral of Gennita Bryant. Gennita was a prayer warrior and precious saint of God.  We take comfort in knowing we will see her again.
February is Stewardship month.  We will be talking about being good stewards of our time, talent, and tithe.  This is always a time a spiritual growth.  Upcoming February events include:
  • February 7th we will be having a baptism after the 11am service.  If you wish to participate in this command of our Lord, please contact me or one of the staff.
  • We will be having a special prayer & communion service February 7th at 6pm.  I hope you can join us for this special time.
  • April will continue her women’s bible study on Monday nights through February 15th.  It begins at 6pm and all ladies are invited.
  • The Young at Heart group can watch Pastor Ronnie and Sue on the Young at Heart Facebook page each Tuesday night at 7pm.
  • On Wednesday nights, Building U begins at 7pm across campus. The adult class is continuing the Gospel of John while high school, middle school and Awana will meet in their respective areas.
  • The Special Valentine Banquet will be postponed this year, however, a Special Valentine basket will be prepared and delivered.
  • Our outreach team is continuing to minister to those who are sick.  If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please contact Kelly Jo Falkowski.
These are some highlights.  There are always ways to be more involved.  I hope to see you this week at New Hope. Please contact carter.donna37@gmail.com with any questions.
